Introduction to Remy Hair Extensions

By Rajot Chakraborty

Remy hair extensions are very popular with women around the world. These extensions are made from the best quality human hair (known as Remy), which has been preserved by keeping the cuticles intact. The extensions created from such hair are of superior quality and they last long as well. The hairs used for creating these extensions are aligned with their roots, from the tip to the end, making them look as natural as possible. Regular hair extensions, even those which are made from authentic human hair (Non-Remy), do not look very natural because of which they end up providing women with an artificial look.

Advantages

Remy hairpieces are very popular because they appear very natural, shiny, soft and silky. Also, they remain tangle-free because of which women find it easier to maintain them. They are made from the finest quality human air, obtained from women around the globe. They are available in most online and regular stores. Also, Remy hair extensions allow women to easily change the appearance of their hair, without causing any harm to their scalp. These hairpieces do not make the scalp feel very dry and they are not prone to dandruff as well. Also, cleaning and maintaining them is very easy.

Another advantage of Remy hairpieces is that, they can be easily colored, dyed, straightened, curled and eve heated. Hence, women find it easy to change their hairstyle when they use these extensions. Regular hairpieces on the other hand, cannot be heated, straightened or curled as they will be damaged. Also, some of them cannot even be washed properly as they are too sensitive, given the fact that they are mostly made from synthetic fibers. Besides, the hairpieces made from synthetic fibers can damage people's natural hair or even lead to the development of rashes in their scalps. Such problems do not exist with Remy hairpieces.

Who can use them?

All women, who wish to improve their appearance by increasing the length of their hair, can opt for Remy hair extensions. They are ideal for women of all ages, even teenagers, as they are not known to cause any harm to the scalp, or to the natural hair of the women. They are widely used by cancer patients as well. In the course of treatment, cancer patients loose hair due to the harmful effects of chemotherapy. Such people can opt for Remy hairpieces, which will allow them to get the kind of hair they desire, without being exposed to any potential side-effects.

How to purchase them?

Remy hair extensions are available in most online and regular stores which sell hair enhancement products. Compared to synthetic hairpieces they are not very expensive and are usually considered as affordable. There are many online stores which sell such hairpieces at discounted prices and some of these stores offer good quality Remy hairpieces. Purchasing them from such online stores is quite easy and the buyers also get a lot of payment options to choose from. The reputed online stores also offer fast delivery of Remy hairpieces.

For many, dark spots are a major problem especially when they are around visible body areas like the face. We all want that smooth spotless skin and we are willing to go to any lengths to get rid of an unwanted spot. A fairly smooth and evened out skin color is everyone's desire and this is why masking against dark spots is important.

With our day-to-day occurrences, we cannot purely prevent causes for blemish but we could always get rid of them. For the spots that are difficult to get rid of, we could always camouflage them until they get to disappear. There are various remedies; While other treatments work, others may not be as effective.

It is best that you realize the cause of your spots before you decide on a remedy for it. Masking a dark spot will take into account the cause of the spot. Causes could include acne, sun spots e.t.c.

As a day-to-day remedy, you can use a cream on your face. These creams are commonly used as a daily remedy until the spot disappears. They are normally prescribed to you after an analysis. There are also some over the counter prescriptions while others are home remedies.

The beauty industry is offering various solutions to this problem. They come in various categories:

• Concealers.

• Fade creams.

• Bleaching creams. These lighten the spots.

• Correctors which work best when used hand in hand with sunscreen.

What do you have to look out for when purchasing these products? There are specific ingredients that you need consider in all the products the market has to offer that work very well. I recommend products that contain the following ingredients:

• Cocoa butter.

• Vitamin E and B3.

• Bio-Oil.

• Aloe vera.

• Lime or lemon extracts.

• Honey.

• Almond oils.

You should also put into consideration the age of your spots. It will take different time durations for the remedy to work on different spots. Patience is of essence when you are treating dark spots. The duration for the remedy to completely get rid of them will depend on:

• The cause

Spots caused from accidents take longer to heal as compared to spots caused due to acne and the sun. The concentration required to heal a dark spot that is proving difficult to get rid of is normally higher and the dosage is for a longer time.

• The age

Spots that are older in age will also take a longer time period to get rid of. More recent dark spots may be cleared faster with the right concentration of the product you choose to buy.

The above named ingredients work well when getting rid spots. When ordering across the counter at the pharmacy, go through the ingredients the product you are purchasing has and you are good to go. Be patient or you will be trying different products all the time and due to the constant change, you may not have the desired effect.

By Maria P. Thompson

We've all been there before, the last minute invitation to a dinner party after work. This leaves you absolutely no time to go home and refresh your make up. It's completely understandable that in today's world, which is full of the working, career-oriented business women, that our schedules leave us little to no time for touching up our makeup. Here are some quick and easy tips from makeup professionals to help turn your day time make up look to a fabulous night time look in no time.

The first step in being able to flawlessly go from day to night is to start with a polished day time look which can be added to later on.

Foundation

It is important to start with a fresh base which can be achieved using a good cleanser and moisturizer. To finish preparing the skin, apply a primer. A primer will smooth the base and help the foundation to stay on for longer. Once you have prepared the base, follow with a foundation that matches your skin and is evenly blended in. Then finish with a translucent powder.

Cheeks

Next apply make up to your cheeks. Professionals recommend using a cream blush followed by a powder in a pop of color. It is recommended that your cheeks have a just pinched look. You could also top your cheeks off with some translucent powder or bronzer for a hint of shimmer and staying power to last you all day.

Eyes

A great day time look for your eyes is a nice neutral tone that you can build on later for your night time look. To achieve this look start with a matte neutral all over the eye lid. Next apply a shimmery dusting of an eye shadow which will give you a pretty shine throughout the day and help you to transition this look later. For your day time look, try just lining your upper lids with eye liner instead of upper and lower.

Lips

Lips also need to start out with a good foundation. Apply a moisturizing lip balm in the morning and reapply throughout the day. You can add a lip gloss on top of your lip balm for a shimmer and color throughout the day.

Now to turn your beautiful day look into a dramatic night time look; You will need to have a few supplies handy. If your face tends to get oily throughout the day, have some tissues on hand to blot the oil, then conceal where needed and finish your base touch up with a dusting of powder. You may want to add a bit more colour to the apple of your cheeks and bronzing highlighter to chin, cheeks and t-zone. To turn your eyes into that sexy, dramatic night time look you will need to have eyeliner, mascara and an eye lash curler. Now is when you can add some eyeliner to your lower lids and reapply to your upper lids if necessary. Next you should curl your eye lashes and add a coat or two of mascara for that extra voluminous look. For your lips you can add a pop of color. For example, this season reds and plums are the hottest colors so add a dramatic color to really spice up your night time look. With a few simple tips and tricks, you can easily turn your day time look into a night time look.

Five Beauty Ideas You Never Dreamed Of

By Michelle M Johnson

You will find people across the world which make a full time income by telling others the way to look great. Nevertheless there is lots of valuable information available, often the information is exactly the same from person to person. If you wish to think just a little outside the box with regards to beauty, you ought to pay attention to these tips.

While you're visiting a hair coloring appointment, it is advisable to go with a fresh face. Keep all the extra makeup in your own home. This is also true if you do not wear makeup on most occasions. A stylist attempts to provide you with a color to fit your complexion. This is quite challenging for anyone to do when they can not see underneath a lot of makeup.

If you're going to your salon you haven't visited, find out if you could have a new stylist with less experience for your new hair style. Since they do not have much experience, they are able to do just as much as the experienced hair dresser. The good thing is the fact that a less experienced person may charge a little less than the others. It is because they are new and has not experienced a large amount of chances to get more clients.

Should you wreck your mascara, pat it off using a cotton ball. By no means try to put foundation or concealer on top of it. All this is going to do is have your face look darker in certain spots than it does in others. A cotton ball is much more precise, but you'll need to be careful. You won't want to risk smearing things a lot more.

Clean your mobile phone regularly. You now are probably wondering how it has related to beauty, however it actually will make a big difference. You put your face up to the telephone whenever you call people, meaning oils and dirt from your phone is going to be moved to the face. Cleaning your phone with antiseptic wipes is really an excellent method to remove most things that may damage the skin. You'll be able to generate all of the calls you would like without any worries.

Heading out for drink together with your friends is often fun, however it could do a number on the lips. If you're planning on drinking plenty of alcohol, it is advisable to reapply lip balm many times throughout the night. Alcohol leaves the lips feeling dried out, therefore it is advisable to use lip gloss in order to prevent that from happening. Also, another way to prevent your lips from damage is to use a straw with your beverage.

There are plenty of beauty tips available that not one person person could inform you of everything. Although there is much more advice available, you simply will not find any as useful as the information you read above. It may seem that most of these things seem a little strange, however they work well. Use them all and you may see how significantly better you happen to be at transforming into a true beauty.

How to Maximise the Impact of Your Eyes - Eyelash Extensions and Semi-Permanent Mascara

By Ryan Francis Malone

Men just do not appreciate the effort woman go to in order to look great every morning. Trips to the gym or health suite or even intermittent weather can cause another dash to the powder room meaning touch ups to make-up and mascara can be a constant struggle. Then there is the dreaded 'morning after' with the new man in your life, panda eyes is never a good look, particularly when you are at the stage where you are trying to impress.

There is not much you can do about make-up wearing or smudging but if the eyes are the gates to the soul, or your lover's heart, then surely there is something you can do to maximise their impact on a more permanent basis? New products are treatments are being created all the time to provide those Hollywood looks without breaking the bank.

For around 6000 years, women (and some men) have used artificial means to improve the appearance of their eyes. More recently mascara was introduced and since then false eyelashes have been developed. Over the past hundred years these have come a long way but still range from simple strips (which can be anything from the cheap and nasty plastic versions to quite impressive natural options but these types can often be annoying and tend to last a night, at best) to individual semi-permanent eyelashes which can last up to 8 weeks with proper maintenance and care.

Semi-permanent eyelash extensions and express eyelash extensions provide individual mink lashes which are attached to your existing lashes and fall out with the natural life cycle of the eyelashes. The two treatments are very similar, using the same products, the difference being semi-permanent lashes which take longer and are generally more expensive use donor (baby) lashes as a foundation while express lashes are able to be added to more mature lashes which are further down their life-cycle and are likely to fall out faster. With either treatment lashes can be built up to be as natural or as glamorous as the client desires. These can be topped up every few weeks to keep them looking great or safely removed using specialist solutions.

In the past couple of years, semi-permanent mascara has been introduced, such as 'MYscara', which offers women the natural but 'done-up' effect of mascara but without smudging or budging in day-to-day life. This solution, which is only able to be applied by trained eyelash extensionists can last weeks and is lightweight and waterproof. No more coming out the shower looking panda-eyed or worrying about your mascara running during that sad or romantic movie.

These semi-permanent solutions offer great versatility and are great value when compared to strips, which generally only provide one use.

How to Apply the Perfect Base for Your Makeup

By Maria P. Thompson

Applying the perfect base for your makeup is the key to achieving a flawless face. The base, also known as foundation, sets the precedent for the rest of your makeup. Perfectly lined eyes, bold lashes and defined cheeks with a touch of color would be nothing if the base is sub par. The problem is many women find applying foundation and concealing imperfections a challenge. Luckily, it is not as challenging as it seems. All you need is a great skincare routine, effective technique, and quality cosmetic to apply the perfect base for your makeup. Here's how.

The first step to applying the perfect base for your makeup is to prep and prime the skin starting with a good cleanser and moisturiser. It is quite difficult, if not impossible, to apply foundation flawlessly, if your skin is not cared for properly. Using a facial cleanser on a daily basis will not only improve skin's appearance but remove any dirt and/or oil from the skin. Once face is cleansed apply a moisturizer. Another great way to keep skin healthy is to exfoliate once a week to smooth skin and remove dead skin cells.

Once your face is cleansed and moisturized the next step is to apply a primer using a foundation brush. A primer will help your makeup stay on longer and provide a smooth surface for makeup to be applied. If you want that dewy finish, you can now apply a light pearl highlighter to the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin using the same brush.

Now your skin is prepped and primed for the foundation. Assuming you have found a foundation that is your perfect shade, first decide on the coverage you want. If you want light coverage, use your fingers to dab foundation only to areas that need it. For those who prefer more coverage, use a cosmetic blending sponge or brush applying foundation to the entire face. To do so, start in the middle of the face and gently blend outward to get an even coverage.

When your foundation has been applied and is perfectly blended, you can now apply concealer. As we all know, foundation provides a certain level of coverage which means that you actually need less concealer than you think. To apply, use a concealer brush or your finger and blend gently. Note your concealer should be lightweight and one shade lighter than your skin.

Lastly, to set your makeup and keep your face shine free, finish with a translucent powder. Be sure to focus on your t-zone when applying. Using a translucent powder rather than a matte powder will make your face look luminous and healthy.

Overall, applying the perfect base for your makeup is simple. All you need to do is prep your face by cleansing and moisturizing, apply primer and foundation, conceal any imperfections and finish by dusting with a translucent powder. Once the perfect base has been achieved, you can add the finishing touches to your face.

The Big Picture - In A Salon

By John Michael Zucco

Whether you're a stylist or a client I'll be talking about how to get the most out of the salon visit and achieve the best possible hair styles to suit your facial features.

I will also focus on how to talk to the stylist or the client so both can understand what's possible and what's not, what to expect and how to achieve it. Sometimes the hardest part of the salon visit is the first "consultation" so let's begin to analyze "The Big Picture".

One of the greatest challenges stylists have is when a client comes to the salon with a picture of what he or she wants and the picture is totally out of perspective! What I mean is the client brings in a picture, of a person that has different facial features, hair texture, density, length etc. And the client expects to go out looking like the person in the picture. Many times this just isn't going to happen!
When a client brings in a picture it can be helpful, if they understand that there are limitations on what a stylist can do for them. And a picture brought in for reference should be one with similar features to theirs.

Features like the hairline, texture, density as well as facial shape & proportion and even neck length. All of this play a crucial part in creating a hair style that will be flattering for the client.

E.g. If you have a wide face, full hairline & thick wavy hair, and you bring in a picture of a model with a slim face & fine straight hair, then your expectations are not going to be met!

You must understand we all have limitations on what we can and cannot have for a hair style (unless you want to wear a wig) and we must be willing to work within our own limitations. So it's best to find hair styles on models that have similar features to your own. It will make your appointment less frustrating and more fulfilling for both you and the stylist!

I tell my new clients that I totally appreciate seeing pictures of styles that they like. But it doesn't mean they can have that particular hair style! Pictures are great for guidelines of what the client likes but they are just that, guidelines! However, it's best to bring in realistic images that closely resemble your own features, rather than reaching for what you know is unobtainable...

For instance, if you're growing your hair out then bring in several pictures of lengths in-between the length you have and the length you want, as the length you want may be 6 months to a year away. It only makes sense that the stylist would be assisted by images of various (lengths) on the way to your goal.
My whole point on styles and pictures is. Be realistic with your expectations, bring in pictures that have similar features to your own, and understand you can't have just any hair style, there are limitations. Your stylist will help guide you. However, you have to be reasonable and let them.

And stylists don't give false promises to your clients, explain to them what is and is not possible with regards to the style he or she wants. It's better to turn down a service to a clients unreasonable expectations, than to do it and have total regrets on both sides. You are ultimately in control of whether or not this will be a good or bad experience for both of you!

One of the most popular styles I'm doing in the salon right now is mid-length to long hair with free flowing movement & chipped ends so the hair looks sleek, not bulky. I always complete this style with a "finishing paste" like "Greed" Matt Finish Paste from Seven Sins. Use just a dab (about the size of a pea) rub in the hands until it emulsifies then apply (using only the finger tips) to the mid-strands and ends. This allows the hair to flow freely, with defined lines and slight bounce, very sexy hair.

Sincerely,

JMZ

Beauty Mistakes To Avoid

By Michelle M Johnson

This doesn't require a great deal of work for a person to be beautiful. Whilst you may possibly believe that it is all about consuming hours in order to do hair and makeup, there are many other considerations that play a role in it. One example of these things is making certain that you do not make any of these mistakes when you find yourself on a mission to look nice.

Tend not to spend a lot of time on your hair. This can seem hard as you like it to look great, however, there is a good reason for this. Currently, people find it more trendy if your look looks like it did not involve a great deal of effort. This means that perfectly styled curls along with tight buns usually are not the best choice. Loosely putting your hair up or even a ponytail can make you look much better.
Tend not to put together eye shadows and lipstick which matches. This will likely only give you a clown appearance. The concept is usually to play up the mouth Or perhaps the eyes, not both. In the event you wear a bold color on your eyes, the hue you decide on for the mouth needs to be more neutral, and vice versa. Furthermore, you should not put the makeup on so thick due to the fact subtlety goes some distance.

Be sure you use sunscreen. Although it is not summer, it doesn't suggest that it's not at all very important to people to protect your skin from the harmful sun rays. Winter sun is usually even worse, so slather up prior to leaving your home. Make use of makeup which includes sunscreen listed as among the ingredients. This can make certain you always remember to put it on.

Do not think the fact that the makeup shades you find are definitely the only ones available. Combine your eyeshadow colors until you develop that which you like. This may be a great idea instead of looking for that ideal shade which you can not find on the market. You can attempt this with perfumes likewise, so be imaginative. Apply different scents by way of layering them, but you should not over do it. If you smell too loud it is going to ruin your entire look since people could be offended.

Moisturizer has to be placed on the skin when you first get out of the shower, so do not delay until your skin actually starts to get dry. When skin is actually dry, it begins to itch, and scratching way too much could cause scabs to develop. Avoid this by rubbing moisturizer on the minute you emerge from the shower. Performing it right this moment will help keep your skin as soft as possible.

These beauty tips may help save you a whole lot of trouble. Stop worrying so much about impressing those with your beauty as it is not really that difficult. The secret is to prevent yourself from making dreadful mistakes that will have a negative result on the manner in which people see you. In the event you follow all the advice given here, there is no way that anyone is ever going to be able to deny your beauty.

Natural Hair Care Basket For Different Types Of Hair

By Mohit M Kumar

With the increasing pollution, your hair goes through an extremely tedious wear and tear making them lose their original quality and flamboyance. What's the solution? Well, before getting to the solution, it is important for you to understand the fact that there is no universal solution to treat all types of hair equally. And hence, today, we will discuss some organic treatments for different hair types. Know the solution right here!

In addition, always remember that natural care is the best way to deal with your hair scares.

1. Oily

Your hair requires a little of its natural oil to keep your tresses in a good condition. However, too much oil can make it look dirty and floppy. If you've noticed that both your hair as well as the scalp is oily, then you should ensure a change of shampoo at the earliest. Besides that you should avoid washing your hair daily as the oil glands tend to secrete more oil due to the massaging. Wash it on alternate days by using an amalgamation of natural hair care products that include a healthy hair pack, a gentle conditioner and seal the protection with a shine and protect hair mist. Also, ensure to use the flat end of your fingers for a more gentle yet effective wash.

2. Dry/ Frizzy

Dry hair is something that is caused due to some form of damage done to your hair. Too many sittings of coloring, too much exposure to heat, straighteners, curling irons, etc. could lead to a condition like this. You should take special care of your tresses as dry hair appears rather frizzy and damaged. Make sure to buy organic hydrating shampoo and a nourishing conditioner that is specifically meant to treat dry hair. You should also avoid using straighteners and curling irons as far as possible. Also, when heading to the beach, use a leave-in conditioner to protect your hair from the harsh salt water, ding so will ensure no damage is done to the hair, retaining its original quality.

3. Thin

Just because you're born with thin hair, does not mean you give up and leave them looking lifeless. Get your hopes back and adapt these simple techniques to help create the illusion of having lustrous, thick hair. Go in for a blunt cut or any other style that keeps all of your hair the same length. This makes your hair look fuller and thicker at the ends. For a hair type as yours, you need to condition the strands and the ends rather than just the roots. Many would recommend you against the use of a conditioner, however, using one will help prevent split ends and keeps your hair healthy and away from breaking and thinning any further. You could go all out and gift yourself a natural hair care basic kit that comes to ease all of your worries at once.

Just like you, your hair too needs special care that is specific to its type. Take appropriate care of them and choose natural and organic treatment options as per your hair type. You could opt for a natural hair care basket filled with organic products to help better the deteriorating condition of your hair.

Cosmetic Skin Care: Chemical Peel

By Sabeen Nadeem

What is chemical skin peel?

It is an umbrella term that encompasses several different types of chemical treatments used to remove the surface layers of the skin. The common misconception about it is that there is some "peeling" involved. The idea in actual is to remove one or several layers of skin depending on the specific treatment involved. The treatment is most commonly used to treat the results of photo-aging or in simpler words any damage that has occurred on our skin because of the rays of the sun. It can also help to reduce sun spots, wrinkles, acne, and acne scars. All this is possible because peeling encourages cell regeneration and collagen development, both of which improve the appearance of the skin.

How chemical skin peel works?

The treatment uses a chemical solution to dissolve skin layers and stimulates healthy cell regeneration and rejuvenation. The solution is applied by a specialist on the surface of the skin-usually the face, back, or chest area and remains there for a predetermined period of time. The chemicals in the solution gradually dissolve the dead skin cells that rest on the surface of the skin, and deeper peels can go beyond that to eliminate deeper layers as well. Once the application process of the solution has been completed, the clinician will remove any remaining solution. These chemicals are also called exfoliating or wounding agents.

Chemical skin peels are relatively painless for most patients. Milder surface peels produce a minor tingling sensation as the solution goes to work, while deeper peels use solutions that have a secondary anesthetic effect. This means that the solution used in deeper peels will numb the skin as it works, preventing discomfort during the process.

When chemical skin peel should be performed?

The treatment provides high-quality results when it is used in conjunction with other treatments. The procedure helps in improving:
  • Sun spots
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Acne
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven skin tone or texture
  • Sun damage
  • Lesions and growth on skin

What are the types of chemical skin peels?

A number of different chemical skin peels are available today, with each offering a different type of chemical solution for the skin. The choice of the chemical depends on the treatment that is required. A good cosmetic specialist will recommend the suitable peel that will help treat the skin problem. The widely used types are:

  • Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) Peels
  • Glycolic Acid Peels
  • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Peels
  • Phenol Peels

It is important to consult a cosmetic surgeon before getting a chemical skin peel treatment. The goal of the procedure is to restore and improve texture and appearance of skin. In planning the treatment, the doctor will consider many things, including skin type, actual problem, skin sensitivity and general health. The doctor and his team will then provide with necessary information to help in understanding the procedure.

The Do's and Don'ts of How to Have Fabulous Hair This Winter

By Jenny Holiday

Winter is slowly but surely creeping towards us. Before we know it the snow will be falling and sleigh bells will be ringing. In the winter months the temperature drops to extremely low levels and moisture is ripped out of the air and either freezes or is turned into snow. Therefore winter is a very bad month for our hair because the lack of moisture in the air is extremely drying and can cause a plethora of adverse conditions. Cold winds and the cold itself can damage hair if we do not maintain the natural oils that our body produces to protect hair.

DO - Keep Hair Well Conditioned

Especially in these months where the air temperature is so low and hair is exposed to dry and harsh strong gusts of wind we need to ensure that we shampoo our hair less frequently and also that we condition hair after each shampoo. Not only does this give hair extra shine and a lustrous look, but also the conditioner acts as a protecting barrier against the elements. It is good to leave a quarter of the conditioner in your hair and not to rinse it out completely.

DON'T - Over wash hair

As per the above, do not over wash your hair during this season. Washing hair too often will simply remove the natural oils in your hair and scalp. These natural oils are the best protection against the elements. Consider lessening the frequency of when you wash your hair. For example if you wash your hair every second day, try washing it every third day instead. The drying and cold conditions of winter will mean that you will sweat less and therefore your hair and scalp will get less dirty, so there really is not a need to wash hair as often as in the hotter months.

DO - Keep natural oils in hair and scalp

There is absolutely no conditioner that you can buy in any store that will compare to the natural oils that are produced by your own hair and scalp. These natural oils are your body's natural defence against the cold, the harsh winds and the elements that are faced during the winter months.
If there is just one DO for the whole of the winter months it is to do everything you can to keep the naturally produced oils in hair and scalp. The best way to do this is to install a shower filter in our shower. Shower water contains many additives that are put in by the water companies to keep water safe to drink, such as chlorine. These additives might be good to control bacteria, but because they are harmful solvents, they actually strip our hair and scalp of natural oils.

If we live in a hard water area then our shower water will be laced with water hardness as well. This means that there are microscopic mineral and metal particles in our water. When these particles hit our scalp and hair at high speed and pressure then they act like a sand blaster, blasting away the natural layer of oils that protect our hair and scalp.

The best way we can keep natural oils in our hair and protect ourselves from both the chemical additives and hard particles in shower water is to install a shower filter. A shower filter will filter out the chemicals and help to reduce hardness from shower water and this will contribute to maintaining the natural oils that our body produces to protect our hair and scalp.
DON'T - Overuse hair dryer
It might be nice to stand in the bathroom with a hair dryer in one hand blowing extremely hot air through our hair when it's so cold outside, but we must try to minimise the use of a hair dryer as much as possible during the winter months. This is because the extremely hot air of the hair dryer is extremely drying and can cause hair to become brittle and lifeless, leaving our hair in an unfit state to be exposed to the elements. Try drying hair on the 'cool' setting. This might take a little longer, but it will ensure that hair isn't exposed to even more drying environments.

DO - Use alcohol free hair spray

If you use hair spray or other hair products, take a look at the back of the pack and check out the alcohol content of your product. Alcohol is an extremely drying chemical and like chlorine is also a solvent. So it will strip the natural oils out of your hair as well. If possible swap to a product that is alcohol free.

DON'T - Go out with wet hair

Whatever you do - do not leave the house with wet hair. In this extremely cold weather conditions if you leave the house with wet or damp hair, you hair could freeze. If hair freezes there is a very high possibility that it will break. Dry hair thoroughly before leaving the house.

DO - Use a humidifier indoors when in dry heated offices and rooms

Indoor heaters in offices and at home create dry heat and that will suck moisture out of anything that might contain any moisture at all, this includes your hair and scalp! Where possible use a room humidifier to replace moisture into the air around you. Or go for a more low tech solution and just keep an uncovered glass of water next to the indoor heater, this will ensure that the heater evaporates the water as it heats the room and thus maintains higher levels of moisture in the air.

DON'T - Use any peroxide laden hair treatments

At all costs - avoid chemicals during this season. Do not perm or use any types of peroxide derived hair colouring during the winter months. If you really need to try to get highlights or lowlights to just a few strands of hair on your head to create the illusion of a fully coloured head of hair. Because of the drying effects of these products and because they will strip out natural oils in hair, these products will make your hair more susceptible to the harsh conditions of winter.

Myths About Using a Laser Hair Removal System to Eliminate Unwanted Hair

By Andrew Arnold

One more thing we can pat technology on the back for is the laser hair removal system. For women around the globe, this is one of the most useful inventions ever. That's because just a few treatments enables them to eliminate most of the hair in unwanted regions, and for a long period of time. There are, of course, many myths surrounding these machines and their effectiveness, of which this article will help to debunk a few so you can better understand the truth about laser hair removal.

Myth: More Hair Can Grow Back
One common myth, mostly associated with the myth that shaving causes your hair to thicken, which it doesn't, is that lasers will cause more hair to grow back. Think about this logically. If such were the case, wouldn't bald men be flocking to laser hair removal salons to seek the miracle cure for hair growth?

Myth: This Will Work for All Hair
Wrong. The most desirable hair type is black hair or dark hair. That's because the laser hair removal system actually attacks the pigment in the hair. Grey hair is impossible to remove as is red hair. This is because neither of these hair types have any pigment. Blonde hair is very difficult to remove, but not impossible.

Myth: Lasers Are Dangerous and Emit Radiation
Another myth is that you might be exposed to toxic radiation by using lasers to remove hair. Such is also not the case. Sure, certain light waves all emit radiation, such as the lights that you use in your home. But the difference is the type of radiation and whether or not it is harmful to you. Lasers do not emit any form of harmful radiation.

Myth: This Procedure is Unsafe
Wrong. When using FDA approved lasers that are of high quality and that are being used by an experienced technician, they are actually safer than using a razor blade at home. An experienced technician can properly treat the hair and remove it using a laser carefully. Inexperienced technicians and shoddy lasers that are not FDA approved attribute to most accidents and incidents or injuries that are reported in this field.

Myth: It's Really Painful
The truth is that everyone has different tolerances for pain. Most people report that it feels like a light pinching of the skin. Newer lasers have cooling shafts on them that blast the skin with cold air in between bursts to alleviate discomfort. You should always try a test patch of skin first to get a better understanding of what you can expect.

My Health Ritual to Look 10 Years Younger

By James Serrano

Health, well-being, and natural skin care have long been passions of mine. I was raised to eat good, healthy foods, drink a lot of pure water, and avoid fast foods and chemical additives or preservatives. As a result, I have maintained good health, been in good physical shape, and looked good for my age. But over time, as I have been aging, there have been some things happening with my appearance that I want to avoid. I have adjusted a great health and beauty routine to keep my feeling and looking my best from the inside out. Here are all the problems I have encountered and what I have done to really look 10 years younger and feel great from within.

1. Dull skin tone, oily patches on the face. I noticed that my face had been losing vitality and radiance. I also get really oily patches in the daytime and find myself wiping my face too often with my hands. This just leaves more dirt on my face and doesn't look great. So my solution is using a great pure Bentonite clay facial mask. I apply the mask once a week, let it dry completely, and then rinse off. This has helped give my pores a deeper cleaning, and removing excess oils. My skin looks and feels healthier, more radiant, and the oily patches are much less frequent.

2. Lines and dark circles under the eyes. I inherited dark circles from my mother, and have seen more fine lines appearing around the eye area. So I started using an under eye mud treatment mask 3 times a week, followed by a few drops of essential oils (Emu Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil) mixed with a carrier oil (Coconut Oil). I actually apply this oil mixture over my entire face 3 times a week. My skin feels so soft and supple, yet firm and natural. The dark circles are diminished and fine lines are hardly visible. My eyes are the first place that I show age so I am very happy with these results.

3. Digestion problems, gas and bloating. As we get older, we can start to have more problems digesting some foods, and have more gas and bloating. I hate that feeling, and also find that is zaps some of my natural energy. So I committed to a great health supplement that has all but eliminated these problems. I eat the gel from half a leaf from an Aloe Vera plant daily. I grow several plants at a time in the warm weather climate that I live in, so I am able to keep a good supply of aloe vera available. On top of the digestion benefits, my skin on my entire body has felt firmer, softer, and with less breakout irritations or itchy patches. The aloe plant really is a whole body and health miracle.

So these are the three things that I maintain for my natural health care. The results are great, and now people continually guess me to be 12 to 15 years younger than my actual age. I don't spend a lot of extra money to keep up this routine, and everything I use is 100% natural and will continue to have good benefits to my skin and body.

Non-Surgical Facelift Options in North Adelaide

When you look in the mirror and see your skin saggy and wrinkly, you feel old. It is all a part of aging and we all need to face it at some point. Is there a solution to this apart from surgery, which can be quite frightening? Fortunately, yes there are a number of options.

Facelift massage
The facelift massage is probably the most popular of the non-surgical procedures available. It is based on the principle of balancing energy. Today's modern lifestyle and stress contribute to the shoulders, face and neck muscles to contract, which is a factor in wrinkles developing.

Treatment last for around one hour and the results can be instantly seen. It will be necessary to have weekly treatment to maintain the improvements. The facelift massage is much more than a massage. It does so much more such as: reducing lines, improving muscle tone, removing energy blocks, improving complexion and defines your features better. Your immune system is also boosted and you are more relaxed.

Chemical peels
Chemical peels are a very popular procedure because the cost is relatively low and it takes around 45 minutes to perform. The procedure works by using chemicals to remove damaged skin from the outer layer. After 2-3 days some scabs will form which will soon fall off leaving you with new, fresh and younger looking skin.

Laser Resurfacing
Another popular non-surgical facelift procedure is laser resurfacing. This is due to the fact that it is not only quick, but also an affordable procedure. It works by the laser light sending short pulses of heat energy, which absorbs the water and any other substances from the skin. This destroys the top layer of the skin. As the skin begins to heal, new skin will appear, and the wrinkles will have disappeared, leaving you looking years younger.

This procedure is very precise which means that the tissue in the surrounding area will suffer very little damage. It requires you to have a local anaesthetic and maybe some sedative medication. Healing time is dependent on the treatment you have had. The laser treatment is commonly performed for face wrinkles, with very impressive results.

Anti-wrinkle cream
Wrinkles and fine lines can be greatly reduced with the use of good quality wrinkle cream. The results should be seen in a short time, and over a period of time the improvements should be very noticeable.

Finding a good quality wrinkle cream can be difficult. It is important that you research the creams as the most expensive is not necessarily the best.

The purpose of anti-wrinkle cream is to make your skin fresher and younger looking, and there are many creams available that can achieve that, so finding the cream that works best for you is well worth the time.

Facelift facial exercises
Doing facial exercises is very simple and does not cost any money. Not everyone knows that the face has 44 muscles and by doing facial exercises, these muscles are being toned up. This is almost like having a natural facelift and you will be left with a brighter looking, smoother and younger skin.
